What Makes Go Karting So Special In Summer

Summer is the best season for go karts in terms of weather and fresh air. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and clear. You might even see a shooting star or two.
The temperatures are also comfortable, so you can really enjoy your date. There’s no need to heat up your car by running the engine, which can lead to overheating of your engine. But if you do it right, you’ll be able to enjoy time spent outdoors with all the benefits that come with it!
Summer is always a popular time for go kart vacations. While go-kart rides in the summer can be fun, they can also be expensive, especially when you are only paying for the ride and not the food or drinks. Before you head out to spend your money on a go-kart racing experience, here are some tips to consider on how to make sure that your go-kart date is memorable and enjoyable.
One of the best ways to prolong your go-kart experience is by making sure that you plan ahead enough so that you can enjoy your date and enjoy it without anything being forgotten or without having a lot of cash being spent.
Mother and son go-Karts together. Sitting in the car ad driving go-cart
The first thing that you should do when planning for your go-kart date is ensure that you have enough food and drinks so that people don’t feel uncomfortable at the end of their date, which can be a very painful feeling for a lot of people who want to spend their money on something fun and memorable.
So what makes outdoor go karts so enjoyable?
First of all, there’s a good chance that you’ll actually be able to talk while driving your go kart! You won’t have to yell at each other while racing around in a go kart like you would in a sports car or ATV. You also won’t have to worry about getting wet! Go-karts are not just for kids anymore either: They’re both fun for adults too!
If that sounds like fun for everyone involved, why not give it a try? Really think about it — if everyone does it together as a family or group — how fun would this be? If more people took time out during summer months to take part in something outside of their regular routines, we’d all have such incredible memories forever. It’s worth the effort — even if just one person takes part in this tradition every year. If more people do it regularly during summer months (and they do), then maybe we’ll start seeing more families enjoying their time together outside on vacation. Maybe more kids will grow up knowing that they’re capable of doing more than driving around in an ATV when they get older… maybe they won’t feel so lonely when they grow up and realize that there are other people out there who share their interests, hobbies and hobbies too! Maybe someday our grandchildren will see this tradition growing into something much larger than themselves.

Go-Karts and Kids

So your child says, “Hey, I want to try go-karting!” You probably have some questions…is it safe? Is it supervised? Are they going to be flying around a track at 100 miles an hour with 50 other karts? Never fear, we’ll let you know how it works and what your kids can expect at VB Motorworld Performance Indoor Raceway. Spoiler alert: they’ll love it, and so will you!

3 Tips to Ensure You're the Fastest on the Go-Kart Track

It’s Like a Starter Car

Let’s face it: however old they are right now, your kids will be driving someday. Go-karting is a great way for them to learn the importance of things like constant observation, good steering, smooth braking, and more – and in a much more controlled environment than, say, the Dallas North Tollway at 6 pm on a Friday. They’ll quickly figure out that driving isn’t as easy as you make it look, and that reacting to changing traffic conditions is really important!

Safety First!

Kids can start racing at VB Motorworld at age 6 (and must be at least 48 inches tall), in our Junior Race segment where the karts can’t go any faster than 25 mph. We use both electric and gasoline karts that are environmentally friendly. We also have an onsite full-time mechanic to make sure the karts are always running smoothly and safely. Oh, and your kids can’t just walk in and ask for a kart! If they’re under 18, you’ll need to sign a waiver and a release of liability form. All racers are required to wear a helmet along with closed-toed shoes, and there is NO bumping allowed. The rules are really important, and they make sure everyone can have a safe and fun time.

Losing, Winning and Learning

Most people don’t like to lose, and some people really don’t like to lose. But when you try something new, it’s almost a guarantee that you won’t succeed immediately. Studies have shown the importance of teaching children how to win and lose gracefully at an early age. Dr. Levey Friedman, a sociologist and parenting expert, puts it this way: “Teaching resilience now sets kids up for success because they learn that failure isn’t the end of the world. It’s just a chance to try again.” What a great lesson for all of us. One valuable aspect of competing is figuring out how to do better the next time you do something. Whether you finished second or twenty-second, there’s something to learn. Maybe your child is still figuring out how to make smoother turns, or have a better judgment on when to switch from accelerating to laying off. We have some suggestions on how to improve!

Bring the Whole Family

Here at VB Motorworld, we want your entire family to have a safe, exciting time you’ll never forget. We can help you celebrate a birthday or other group event, and check out our promotions too. For more information, take a look at our Karting 101 page, or contact us directly with any questions. See you on the track!

Experience The Thrill and Fun of Go-Karting This Spring!

What is a Go Kart?

A Go Kart is a fun and affordable way to learn and enjoy the sport of go karting. This sport, also called go-karting, is a fast-paced and thrilling form of racing that involves driving a large wheeled vehicle (think: race car) through multiple courses in an attempt to finish with the most points possible. Depending on the size of your budget and your desire to compete, you can have the best time of your life on a Go Kart.
There are various types of Go Karts you can ride with different engines and karts (like BMWs or Ferrari’s). But there is one thing they all have in common: they are all great fun!
You can choose between two main types of karts: open-wheel (with no steering wheel) or closed-wheel (with steering wheel). If you want to get into open-wheel karts, we suggest either renting or buying a class 3 kart. These will be fun for beginners. And there are plenty of them nearby; many public parks also have classes 3 and 4 karts available for rent. For those who want to focus more on driving skills, you should try renting closed-wheel karts. Class 3 closed-wheel cars typically run about $200 per hour (rental prices vary depending on the type) for a higher quality machine that can handle rough roads like gravel and sand.
If you’re interested in having the best experience possible, we recommend trying out open-wheel karts. They will take some practice to master… but it’s worth it! The thrill is unmatched by any other form of racing or driving!

Racing Tips

The majority of people believe that a go kart is a type of car with wheels. It is actually an inexpensive motorized toy.
Go karts are small cars that come in many different styles, ranging from mini-go karts that can be ridden by children to high-tech motorcycles with massive engines. These vehicles are not only fun to drive, but also great fun to ride!
In the beginning days of go karting in the United States, it was driven on a set track. The track included many turns and bumps over which you had to steer the vehicle. When it came time for racing, the go karts were modified for racing purposes. Today you will find models that are modified to meet race specifications and racing equipment such as air conditioning, brakes, and tires that can improve your driving skills.
The green lines on the track indicate a turn or a bump on which you must steer your vehicle. The red lines show how far ahead you must be before you can change lanes or pass another vehicle and start your turn again. The white lines indicate where you can brake as well as where you can accelerate through turns by applying more power than normal at certain points along the track.
These rules allow you to have fun while gaining valuable experience while learning how to handle these vehicles at high speeds and in challenging situations when racing against other drivers who have comparable skill levels and experience; or even other competitors who have been racing for years!

How to Choose the Best Go Kart for You

The term “Go Kart” is used to refer to a variety of different kinds of multi-wheeled vehicles. From the simple karts that use gears and tracks to high-performance machines that feature the latest in technology and power.
It all comes down to what you want in a go kart. You’ll find a wide range of choices, so narrowing down which one best meets your needs is important.
So, how can you choose the best go kart for you?
There are several different types of go karts, but here’s a list of some key features to consider:

How many people can fit in your go kart?

Let’s start with this important factor because it will determine how much room there is for everyone to fit comfortably . Compact go karts are great for families, especially if one person is tall enough to stand up in the seat without needing help from others. If you’re planning on having friends or family join you for your first ride, consider buying two or three smaller models so they can have their own space in the car.

What weight class do you take?

Go karts come in five different weight classes : 50cc, 125cc/150cc/250cc/350cc/400cc (depending on what model bike you have). All of these classes are designed for riders who weigh between 40 and 100 pounds or more while still fitting into their seat comfortably . Weight classes allow riders to choose which level of performance they want while still having room enough to accommodate the entire family (or friends) comfortably .

Can I add accessories like fuel tanks or seats?

It may seem silly at first, but adding an accessory like a fuel tank or seat can make a huge difference when it comes time for an outing . Do you plan on taking your two children out on the same day? Maybe it would be best if only one child rode as there would be less people riding and less room available for them both (unless they were infants!). A standard noisier model might not be ideal as this would defeat the purpose of going out with friends; however, if it’s just your teenage son and he wants to ride after his homework is over then perhaps purchasing him a lightened model might alleviate some pressure off him during his ride when he’s tired from his homework (and tired from riding).

How to Choose the Right Track for Your Go Karting Experience

Go Karts have been around since the 1950s. There are different types of Go Karts, but they all have the same basic idea — which is to have a lot of fun with your friends. The concept is simple and enjoyable.
The challenge is that when you buy a Go Kart, you do not know what type of track you are going to get. You may get a track that is too short, or too long, or just right for your kids. Often there are no reviews about the track on the internet. If that’s the case for you, then it can be quite difficult to choose from all of the great options out there.
Go Karts can be quite expensive so it’s important to ask lots of questions before you buy one. In this article we will go over some tips for selecting a track for your Go Karting experience when purchasing one online or at an amusement park.
The first thing to consider when choosing a track for your Go Karting experience is what type of Go Karting experience you want to have — speed racing, time racing or going around on an oval? There are also three different types of tracks available: either dirt tracks or asphalt tracks and then other types such as grass tracks and water tracks.
And most importantly — if it looks like it will be fun! Because let’s face it — these types of tracks aren’t cheap to build! They also require some maintenance and upkeep in order to keep them running smoothly whilst being safe and enjoyable for riders at all times. If they aren’t fun enough then they won’t be worth spending money on!

How To Race Fair & Square – Go-Kart Racing Etiquette

Racing Etiquette

Outdoor Go Karting is a sport in which you ride on a go kart and compete against others. There are different types of outdoor go karts, but they all have similar riding characteristics. A lot of people think that the rider controls the go kart with his or her body, but that isn’t really the case. The rider controls the throttle, which is why this sport is called “track and field” for racing purposes.
A good rule of thumb when it comes to etiquette:
Keep your eyes open for other bikes
  • When you’re racing, look out for other riders and try not to run into them. Riders in groups are at an advantage when it comes to speed and maneuverability. If you can avoid them, do so.
  • You should never stop or slow down towards other riders because this could lead to an accident being in your favor.
  • You shouldn’t cross over other riders because doing so could possibly result in an accident happening to you too (this doesn’t happen very often). Your risk tolerance should be higher than theirs because most accidents don’t end well for other riders.
If something happens before you reach their side of the track, don’t panic! Look around carefully and find out what happened! To make things easier for yourself if this does happen, please make sure your brake is fully extended so you can stop safely if necessary before hitting a group member… otherwise you might hurt yourself then! 😛 Be careful out there! Don’t be rude or rough around the edges either… I don’t want anyone getting hurt just because they aren’t paying attention while I am running around on my go kart! 🙂

The Different Types of Go-Kart Racing

Karting is renowned as one of the most popular forms of motorsport on the planet. A vast array of racing types and competitions are followed and competed throughout the racing season on a global scale. Seen initially as a family sport, and associated with kids karting has become a serious activity in the motor sporting world for all ages. Most commonly, karting is seen as an introduction to Formula One and other more high-level motorsports. Official racing formats include sprint, endurance and speedway races.

Endurance races can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours and sometimes longer. As a long-term race, specific techniques are of the greatest importance, and drivers and crews must work together to perfect their pit strategy and driving skills. In these races, a mere few seconds caused by a tiny mistake can cost participants the race, so reliability is favored over all-out speed. This extensive, painstaking practice is what to do to become a winner in kart racing, however, it often takes years to reach the championship level of the sport.

The most well-known competitions in karting, the Karting World Championship, and the FIA Championships use the sprint format. This format includes a series of short races with very few laps, with a combination of calculations to measure points scored. Due to the short duration of races, usually no more than 15 minutes, strong passing of other vehicles, and speed is essential. Sprint tracks generally range in length from 400 yards to more than 1600 yards. Since the small karts can be used on a variety of track surfaces, many tracks are custom-made by karting organizations.

Taking place on clay or asphalt tracks, the main difference with these races is the number of laps. Most speedway races have between 10 and 20 short laps. These competitions focus on superior corner handling and acceleration. They can be some of the most difficult within the karting world.

2. At what age should one be able to race?

There are requirements concerning adult karts. Children must be at least 36″ height. Also, if you aren’t certain you’re skilled enough for kart racing, then you can take an assessment. This is known as a race evaluation. You are eligible to race as soon as you’ve passed the evaluation.

The evaluation permits track personnel to inform you of specific road rules. They will brief you on driver safety and help to ensure that you’re compliant with basic road safety.

3. Are there any waivers that I have to sign?

In some states, signing a waiver for kart racing is always going to be a requirement. Your signed waiver benefits you so that you can receive insurance coverage for yours and the track’s protection.

Most Kart racing facilities also allow you to bring your own helmet. To be permitted for use, the helmet must meet DOT requirements. It should come attached with a pair of goggles, a visor and a frontal shield that is able to cover most of the face.

4. Are Go Karts really that fast?

Most go-Karts available standard for indoor use are quite fast. The industry doesn’t sacrifice speed in order to make karts safe. Most karts have an electric motor with a horse power of 24(hp). This makes your kart be able to hit speeds of at least 45 MPH.

5. Is there any training for go kart racing?

Although there is no racing experience needed, many who plan on going karting, may undergo a brief safety evaluation. Going over kart track rules will help drivers to better grasp each sign’s meanings as well as inform them on how to safely drive the kart. In most cases this evaluation is a requirement.

6. Is it necessary for me to make a reservation?

Reservations are not used much, especially if you’ll only be racing with a small group of three to four people. You’ll probably still not be needing one if your group included you and six others.

7. Do I have to bring my own equipment?

Even though you very well can bring your own equipment, the facility is expected to supply all necessary protective gear. The only thing that is required for you to bring with you, is a pair of close-toed shoes.

If these are not available, it is worth seeking out someone who is an experienced racer to see if they would provide a few lessons. Also, asking a lot of questions will help to become more familiar, and a lot of great tips can be learned this way.

There should be some go-kart facilities in the area where a new driver can practice their racing. It is well worth doing this before jumping into a race without any track experience.

Why Go-Karting Is Good For Your Health

The Legends Of Kart History

Go-Karts to Greatness

At VB Motorworld, we know people that aren’t familiar with go-karting sometimes think it’s a kids’ pastime. Would you be surprised to know that many professional racers started on go-karts? Today we’ll introduce you to three of them.

Michael Schumacher

Michael Schumacher

Michael Schumacher is considered one of the greatest Formula One drivers in history. He is the only driver in history to win seven F1 World Championships, including five consecutively. Michael’s career started on a go-kart track in Kerpen-Manheim, Germany, a town near Cologne. He captured the German junior karting championship in 1984 and 1985; two years later he won both the German and European karting titles. The following year, he moved to Formula Three driving – where the cars are less powerful than those in Formula One – and two years later won the German F3 title.   In 1991 Schumacher made the move to Formula One racing, and five years later joined a Ferrari team that hadn’t won a Drivers’ Championship since 1979. He proceeded to turn them into the most successful Formula One team in history, including the five straight world championships. His total of seven F1 titles broke a record that had stood for almost 50 years. Along with that, he holds records for the most Grand Prix wins at 91, and the most races won in a single season, at 13.

Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen started with go-karts at age four and quickly was competing in Belgium at a nearly Mini Junior championship. At nine years old, racing in the Rotax Max Minimax class, he captured the Belgian championship; the next year, he won the Dutch Minimax championship. When he turned 13, Versteppan made the move to international karting and signed with CRG, where he raced at world and European championships. He became the youngest racer in Formula One history at just 17 years old, then became its youngest points scorer and eventually its youngest race winner before he turned 19.   At the conclusion of the 2015 racing season, Verstappen received three awards from the International Automobile Association: Rookie of the Year, Personality of the Year, and Action of the Year (for an overtake move during the Belgian Grand Prix). He has been part of the Red Bull Racing Team since 2016, and at just 23 right now, clearly has a bright career ahead of him.

Sebastian Vettel

Sebastian Vettel

Sebastian Vettel began his racing career with Michael Schumacher, go-karting at the same track in Kerpen-Manheim near Cologne. He started amateur karting at just 3 1/2 years old and started racing in karts series when he was eight. He caught the eye of the Red Bull Junior Team by the time he turned 11 and earned a spot with them. Sebastian won multiple titles including the Junior Monaco Kart Cup in 2001, and two years later was promoted to open-wheel cars. The following year he won the German Formula BMW Championship, thanks to 18 victories in 20 races. Vettel was the youngest Formula One driver to participate in a Grand Prix weekend, at just under 20 years old…until Max Verstappen broke his record! He won four straight Formula One World Championships, from 2010 through 2013.

That Was Only the Beginning
